HOW TO MAKE DONUTS - GLAZED AND FRIED

Donuts are the sweet delicacies popular globally. Whether it is a festive season or normal daily routines we eat donuts. Donuts have many different kinds. Each one is better than the last. Boston cream donuts are probably the best. Sweet cream mushed inside the donuts is delicious.  People eat donuts for breakfast or some have sweet cravings and they cannot resist when they see a yummy donut. Canadians have a high percentage per capita in donut consumption.

In this article, we’ll discuss two types of donuts fried and baked.

Glazed donuts can also be made in-home, they can also be glazed, dipped, or eaten plain. You don’t have to go outside. It’ll probably take between two to three hours to make these sweet goods in your home.

If you are earning your living from home then you can use custom donut boxes. These boxes are mainly made from cardboard. They keep the donuts secure during delivery and the added benefit of retaining the taste of the delicious donuts.

Custom cardboard boxes for donuts are the way to go if you want to advertise and enhance your brand’s name.

  1. Mix warm water, yeast, and 1 tsp of sugar in a big mixing bowl. Blend and wait for five minutes until the mixture is cool.

  2. Add sugar, butter, and salt and blend.

  3. Begin to stir the flour steadily, adding just enough until the dough forms and gathers in the middle of the bowl.

  4. Turn the dough onto a board, put some flour on the board, and knead until the dough is soft and elastic. Use your palm to knead the dough and lift it off and fold it inside. Then fold the dough out again. Repeat until the dough is kneaded well.

  5. Shape the dough into a ball. Put it into a bowl, then put a clean towel on top of it. Allow 1 and 1⁄2 hours for the size to double.

  6. Divide the dough into two equal parts after it has risen. Roll out one part on a floured surface until it is 1/4 inch thick. Use a 3-inch donut cutter to carve out as many donuts (and holes) as possible from the dough. Place the cut-out donuts with the holes on individual pre-cut parchment papers on a large tray or dish. Fold and re-roll the scrap, and take out as many donuts as possible. Repeat this process for the second half of the dough.

  7. Heat about 2-3 inches of oil in a medium, heavy-bottomed pan to 375 F. Lower a few donuts into the oil at a time, peeling them off the parchment paper before frying. Cook for about 3 minutes until it turns golden. Fry for 1 minute on the other side until golden. Fried donuts should be drained on a wire rack spread over a big tray or on paper towels.

  8. Leave the donuts to cool before glazing or dipping them. If you want to roll them in sugar and/or cinnamon, do so when they're still hot but have cooled enough to manage.

  1. Coat all sides of each warm doughnut with the glaze. The glaze will be formed after around 20 minutes.

Your fried glazed donuts are ready to be devoured. Donuts made and eaten by yourself have an essence of their own. Yes, I know it’s hectic but it is satisfying especially in the pandemic when lockdown is enforced and you are bored with slacking and watching Netflix.
